Zita Cup - Wednesday Ladies' Social Tennis

The winner of this year's Zita Cup is Collette Connolly, who has been a member of the club since 1976.

As winner, Collette nominated the charity to which the funds of €170, raised since Christmas, would be donated.

They are to be given to the Five Loaves charity for the Homeless in Bray.

Collette is also planning to do a tandem dive to raise funds for this charity in September and we wish her every success with this.

Club House Bar

Following close of business on Wednesday the 9th Jan we are preparing for the start of the re-development work.     We are trying to keep any disruption to a minimum and will continue the bar service in the senior hall on a temporary basis with Heiniken or Murphys on tap.   The junior hall will be used  for other club activities like poker nights bridge etc.

St. Vincent de Paul Coffee Mornings

Due to the current redevelopment of the clubhouse which is now taking place there will be no St. Vincent de Paul coffee morning held on Fridays until further notice.
Please accept my sincere apologies and look forward to seeing you all again when the redevelopment has been completed.

Court Floodlighting

Warning sirens on all courts have been replaced with a flashing AMBER STROBE.  The strobe will be activated for 5 seconds, and be followed by a flashing RED STROBE which will continue for a further 60 seconds

To keep the lights on you must cancel the flashing red strobe by pressing the appropriate COURT GREEN BUTTON  ON THE CONTROL BOX otherwise the floodlights will switch off.

Thank you for your co operation

We have now purchased a defibrillator for the club. Six people have been trained in its use.

They are as follows:-

1. Rosemarie Devereux
2. Bunty Hadyn
3. Conor Woods
4. Alan Russell
5. Vinnie Ovington
6. Freda O'Keefe.

We are fortunate that these people agreed to be trained in the use of the defibrillator and it was felt in choosing them we would hopefully have someone on site covering most of the hours the club is used.

The location of the machine is in full view of the CCTV and please can you stress to all members of your family this is a life saving costly machine and it is NEVER to be tampered with. Let 's hope it is never used but reassuring to know it is there

The feasibility study into the indoor courts is well on its way and will be presented to the  main committee in August and then at the A.G.M. The sub committee have put alot of work into this and I am very grateful to them. Nicky Brooks
